Philip Braden

Philip Braden is the Regional Sales Manager for Southern California, Illinois, Missouri and Kansas and also represents GibbsCAM in Nebraska, Montana and New Mexico. He resides in northern Illinois. Philip and his father bought their first 3-axis numerically controlled mill in 1966 for their job shop in Minnesota. He began teaching programming to his employees and soon became well known as an innovator in NC machining techniques on their four numerically controlled machines.

In 1972 Philip moved to Southern California and continued his career in the numerical control field. The first computer aided programming he did was with Compact II in 1974. In 1976 Philip joined Hasbach Company, in Southern California, as a District Sales Manager and became known as the salesman who would also roll his toolbox into a shop and teach new users how to machine complex parts with the new Computer Numerical Control machines as they came to market.

By the time Philip started his own company, Braden Engineering, in 1976 he had sold, programmed and taught the use of many of the CNC machines and technologies available.

Braden Engineering was the first dealer for Gibbs and Associates and for the next 16 years in a row was the largest Gibbs dealer worldwide. He opened up the market in many states for Gibbs until additional resellers were needed.

Philip is a pioneer user of technical advances. Philip also provides standard and custom GibbsCAM presentations that can be downloaded over the internet.

Philip often transforms on-site and internet sales presentations into a mini training forum to impress upon the prospect the ease of use and learning that is the GibbsCAM hallmark.

Braden Engineering is now part of the GibbsCAM Direct Sales team and Philip continues to be passionate about improving American productivity with the use of the easiest and best CNC programming system on the planet, GibbsCAM.

Jeff Buchan

Jeff Buchan is the Regional Sales Manager for the Pacific-Northwest. Jeff became a machinist when he moved from Southern California to Sturgis, Michigan in 1992. He learned the ropes running various manual mills and Cincinnati 220 Acramatics, then worked his way into the CNC realm programming and running a Bridgeport 516 Interact. From there Jeff moved on to Cincinnati 10VC’s and 20VC’s then eventually Mazak V414’s and H400’s.

In 1995 Jeff moved on to a medical company in Kalamazoo, MI, where he was programming in Mazatrol and running V414’s. His supervisor noticed that he had an aptitude for programming and needed to fill a spot in the lathe department and put him on the Swiss-Style turning centers. This is the time at which Jeff felt he became proficient in manually programming and running MTM machining centers while working with Citizen E32’s, E16j’s, and a Star-16.

In 2000, Jeff moved back home to Southern California. Shortly after, he went to work for an off-road racing suspension manufacturer as a programmer/lead. That was when Jeff was introduced to a great CAM system called GibbsCAM. Like most machinists out there, he grabbed the books and started learning. Within the first few days Jeff was writing programs for Fadal and Daewoo mills as well as Daewoo lathes. Eventually becoming the Shop foreman, material buyer, and planner.

In 2004, Jeff was hired on by a GibbsCAM reseller in Southern California. It was there that he learned what it meant not only to sell GibbsCAM, but also what it meant to support customers, and to train them as well.

In 2006, Jeff became the GibbsCAM Regional Sales Manager for the Pacific-Northwest. Jeff is very happy to be assisting our existing customers and looks forward to meeting some new ones, and showing them how being a part of the GibbsCAM family can help their business succeed.
